What “scope” means here

Scope is the boundary of this check: the people, devices, networks and cloud services you are including. Anything in scope must meet the Cyber Essentials requirements. We ask these questions first so the rest of the checker only covers that boundary — and so you know what “in scope” refers to in the questions that follow.

This is the first part of defining your scope — the working arrangements and networks this assessment will cover. It also decides how your firewall is assessed. If you have no office firewall and everyone works remotely, the software firewall on each device becomes the control — you are not failed for lacking an office appliance.
